I can’t stand the word Rich, but I love the word Wealthy.

What’s your word?

Here’s the thing about the word rich. I literally think of Richy Rich, with the helicopters and drinking champagne at 10AM on my yacht with women who are wearing couture and desperately need to eat a sandwich. It seems like a crazy unattainable lifestyle. Now, I’m not knocking Richy Rich, because some days drinking champagne in my chopper at 10 AM does sound nice. It also sounds so outside of the world that I know that it seems like fiction. It seems unattainable, and it reminds me that I am not, and will probably never be, rich by those standards.

Maybe that’s why so many people think that they could never be rich.

A lot of women who I’ve talked with seem to think that being wealthy isn’t for them. I’m going to give you some straight-talk advice here. If you really want to have a different life than the one you have, then you need to put in the work. That work is not only physical and practical work. It also requires the emotional work of changing your life, as well.

This includes changing the belief that being rich isn’t for you.

Maybe the word rich is holding you back? If so, let’s stop saying rich and start saying something else.

I actually like the term wealthy, more than rich. Rich doesn’t feel empowering to me. It feels like your great uncle Scrooge McDuck died and left you his money pile. Since rich doesn’t resonate with me, I’m decided to stop using it altogether.

Instead of rich, I’m going to start using words like wealthy, or financial free or abundant, and I think you should, too. I want you to use whatever type of words are empowering to you. Maybe that word is wealthy. Maybe that word is limitless. Heck, make up a word!

You get to define what your word is and what it means to you.

To me, wealth means setting up my kids to live an easier life than I have. To me, wealth means that I don’t have to struggle; I have options. Wealth means that I have some F. U. money and can walk away from a situation if I feel that it does not serve me.

For me, even if I won the lottery, I would feel compelled to help people because I feel like it’s part of my purpose in life.

I know, shit just got deep.

We’re all here for a reason. We are all here on this planet for a reason and that reason has little to do with just being rich. Some people are here to entertain others, some people are here to help others, other people are here to make amazing food. I know that I’m here to help people with their money.

I want you to feel empowered about your money. I don’t want you to feel like your dreams are unattainable or that your goals can never be reached.

Define your best life in whatever terms feel the most authentic to you. Use words like wealthy if it feels good, or abundant if it feels good. Just pick words that feel good to you.

You are worthy of a wonderful, prosperous life. The first step is believing it.
